Have you ever heard of Philo Taylor Farnsworth? He was an American inventor and a TV pioneer, he was the one who invented the iconographer, a device capable to capture images and convert them into electronic signals. Here is the starting point of the television.
In 1936, there were around 200 televisions in the world, today, their number is unknown. The first TVs were black and white, but not long afterwards, the color TVs appeared and in the year 1940, a color TV system able to produce 343 lines was produced.
Today, we can watch our favorite movies and TV shows in high definition, thanks to the LCD TV.
LCD means Liquid Crystal Display. The liquid crystals are some chemical elements and its molecules can precisely align when stimulated by electric power. When appropriately aligned, these crystals allow light to get through them.
The LCD TV has a display constituted by liquid crystals, pressed between two special glass boards. In order to obtain image, the electric power is applied to the crystals. They function through the spark of every pixel’s cell, which is in 3 colors: red, blue and green. The LCD TV’s panels don’t have their own light; therefore they need an auxiliary source of light, mostly a phosphorescent lamp that is placed on the back. The pixels, electrically controlled, are “conducted” to let or block the light of the lamp in order to form the image.
There are many companies now that produce LCD TVs and the biggest corporations in this matter are: Sony, Sharp Corporation, LG Display, Panasonic and Samsung.

It is a great idea to buy a LCD for your home, if you never had one, as your watching experience will highly improve.
You can get a greater luminosity for the images at reduced energy consumption and pristine picture quality.
Amazon.com offers a large variety of LCDs at very good prices, which, in my opinion are worth it, considering that you can find in stores the same models but at a higher price. My suggestion is, if you decide to buy such a TV, to get a look first on the Amazon.com. Here I found mine, a RCA 50LB45RQ 50-Inch 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV. Ever since, I can see everything much clear and much greater in qualitative terms. I can connect to any media, which means I can see my photos and listen to music or view my clips at high definition quality. The sound is very good, better than my friend’s LCDs, everything is clear, the sound, the picture, so I don’t believe there is a reason not to try this one out. This TV has no dead pixels and the turn on option is soundless, beeping or other annoying sounds are totally eliminated.
An advantage in getting this LCD is the wall mounting system. You can add space to your room and adjust the view angle by setting it up on the wall. You’ll also get the impression that your living room or bedroom is much more elegant this way and there remains a lot of space for your girlfriend’s vases or other décor accessories that they like to spread around the TV.
I believe the price is very good according to what this TV is able to do and if you never had a LCD before, I would suggest you get one, maybe even start with this model, you won’t regret it.
